Prepare
In good time before the event you will receive the complete Vårlys 2026 Survival Guide with everything you need to know about Torpa and Vårlys. Read it and understand it.
We will also send a few newsletters with important and practical information.
Planning on bringing a van/camper instead of a tent? We have very limited space for vans due to terrain. You can read more in the Survival Guide and you must fill out the form for VanLand.

MARCH 27 - First Placement application deadline
APRIL 15 - Dream application deadline
MAY 24-26 - Early access for necessary DPW volunteers, theme camps and creators only.

Create content
There is no content unless
you bring it to Vårlys yourself.
You are welcome to bring projects & gifts
(small and large) to share with the community.
Placement
You are encouraged to bring art, activities, content, workshops or theme camps to Vårlys. But - you might not want to have your meditation camp right next to a sound camp. That’s where placement comes in.
The placement team will look at the land as a whole, and divide it into suggested areas. There might be existing structures that could be used for projects. Placement can never guarantee that a quiet zone is quiet at all times, but they can facilitate a layout with a good flow of content.
Inform Placement if you’d like your project to be included on the event map that all members receive before the event.
Remember, you don’t need to have all the details figured out just yet to create magic. A burn is a bit like life: a rough idea and a lot of improvisation along the way.
The deadline for the first placement round is March 27th.
You can still put requests for placement after the deadline, but buildings, rooms and areas will be allocated to those who have applied within deadline at this time.

Dream Grants
The Dream Grants process is a system where a portion of the total Vårlys budget is allocated for members' dreams - to help participants co-create.
Dreams are projects or content you are bringing to Vårlys. Add your dream to the platform to get feedback, find co-creators, source materials, apply for funding.
All dreams can be added to the platform, even if they are not asking for co-creators, funding or materials.
The deadline for publishing your Dreams is: APRIL 15

Volunteering
To make the event happen, each and everyone of us contributes by doing volunteer work, either before, during or after the event.
You can read more about the
different volunteer roles here!
Each volunteer role has a separate Discord channel. Stay up to date about shifts and other important information posted there.
Everyone signs up for shifts. The shift schedules will be published closer to the event! Sign up for several shifts, and contribute to more volunteer roles too!
